I used up Ian’s modeling spot for February to show his knife skills. For Christmas, I got him and his Mother a knife skills class at Sur La Table. They had a ball learning how dice, slice, and make mounds and mounds of Julienne Fries. Meanwhile, I’ve had bronchitis for the past 3 days and when I’m not coughing my head off, or trying to get my voice back (I usually get laryngitis with the bronchitis). I’ve been reviewing some lighting technique training for myself.
I signed up for a weekend course on lighting techniques a few weeks ago and have been reviewing the videos from the class to make sure that I understand what they taught and then try to put those techniques into practice. Today, was setting up on camera flash lighting to provide even lighting. You almost can’t tell that this had flash in it. I also was practicing using an orange colored gel to prevent the bluish flash light from overpowering the scene. Finally, I wanted to layer in elements into the image to give the image some depth and interest.
